I've heard it said that there are 2 things that shouldn't be discussed...politics and religion. I think BBQ sauce should also be added to that list. Some recipes that I have found for BBQ sauces include as many as 20 ingredients with some even including alcohol or coffee. I have found a great way to make a sauce that will appeal to your family... grab a few bottles of whatever is on sale and add some honey mustard, a few spices - Hungarian paprika, ground allspice, cumin, and black pepper - and a little extra ketchup. I think this is a great way to get the sauce you want. I always like to add a bit of liquid smoke in my sauce for a bit of hickory flavor. Try some combinations and I would love to hear from you.
